Must-Haves From My Beauty Bag

Okay so when I say “beauty bag”, that includes some skincare products too! I love hearing about what others think of different products so I can find some to try myself. So, I thought you guys might like to hear about some of mine. In return, if you have any products you have been using lately that you love, please leave a comment and let me know what they are – I love trying out new products! Here are my favourite cheap and cheerful beauty (and skincare) products you should try.

Garnier Miscellar Water

I’ve tried and tested so many brands when it comes to miscellar water because of my sensitive skin but Garnier definitely comes out on top. I would always use makeup wipes before bed to remove my makeup but after seeing so many ads on the TV for miscellar water, I began to use this instead. It leaves your skin fresh and when used on a cotton wool pad it isn’t as harsh on the skin as a wipe. I also use it in the morning too followed by Simple moisturiser; this combination definitely eases my dry skin and leaves my face feeling super soft.

Coconut Oil

This is probably one of my best finds to date! I suffer from a dry scalp, especially in the winter months, and after using T-Gel and all of the other medicated shampoos that don’t smell great, I wanted to try something new. Various suggestions on Google pointed to coconut oil as a way to give your scalp some extra moisture and so I bought myself a jar of pure pressed coconut oil. I massage it into the scalp and leave it on for an hour or two before showering off and washing my hair as normal. It works a treat. Not only does your scalp feel nourished but your hair is left silky and smelling amazing! It’s also great to use on your face too if your skin feels dry – just simply apply it to the skin and then make sure it’s washed off thoroughly. You can find coconut oil in your supermarket – I got mine from Aldi! Just make sure its 100% pure.

Rosy Lips Lip Balm by Vaseline

I can’t think of a time when I haven’t had Vaseline in my bag! I’ve always gone for the one in the blue tin – the original one – but I recently bought the rosy lips edition instead and I love it! It’s perfect for those days where you don’t want to wear much makeup, or none at all, but you still want a little colour and shine on your lips. I often wear it instead of lip gloss or combine it with a matte lipstick – combining the colour of the lipstick with the shine of the balm.

All-In-One BB Cream by The Body Shop

Providing light coverage, this BB cream is the perfect alternative to foundation on those days where heavy make-up isn’t for you! It’s quick and easy to apply and adapts to match your skin tone, illuminating the skin and giving you a natural, dewy glow. I often pair this up with my Vaseline lip balm (above) when I want some coverage but without applying all of my usual makeup products that give me full coverage.

  • All-In-One BB Cream – £12.00 from The Body Shop
  • Look out for offers at The Body Shop – there’s usually discounts of 40% for customers that have a loyalty card and Vouchercloud users. It’s well worth keeping an eye out for when you need to stock up on your favourite Body Shop bits!

Eyelash Curler

I always thought most girls had eyelash curlers in their beauty bag but I was so surprised when most of my friends told me they don’t own one! I cant imagine doing my mascara without mine. It changes my whole look when it comes to eye makeup and it means that most of the time I don’t have to wear false lashes (which is great for me, I can’t apply them very well)! I just hold my lashes in the curler for 20-30 seconds before applying my mascara and they look so much longer! I’ve had mine for a while and can’t quite remember where I purchased it from but it wasn’t an expensive buy.

No7 Lash and Brow Perfector

This product is great for thick brows like mine that need taming! It’s a clear gel that’s easy to apply and allows you to shape your brows as you wish. Admittedly, I don’t use this product on my eyelashes on its own but when my mascara has dried, I then apply this over the top to stop my mascara bleeding under my eyes. I read that tip online but didn’t think it would work. To my surprise, it does!

If you have any beauty product recommendations please tell me in the comments section! I’d love to hear about new products I can try.

  1. I have to get some of the BB cream. I used it years ago, totally forgot about it!

Coconut oil is good for everything, isn’t it!? My boyfriend told me I’m going to turn into a coconut one day. 😂 oh boy. Lol.

    Thanks for the read!
